2.5 hours from Tokyo

I'm about 2.5 hours from Tokyo. I have a brief layover then another 6 hour flight to Vietnam. Will there be any barbershoppers at the Narita airport who want to sing some tags?

This flight has gone by surprisingly quickly so far. Of course, since I typed that out loud, these last two hours will likely C R A W L. :) I watched a couple of movies and slept a teensy bit. There's nobody in the seat next to me. So the guy at the window and I have taken turns at using it to stretch out. All in all, it's been reasonably comfortable.

A periodically crying and poopy baby is seated nearby. But it hasn't been too bad. The flight attendants setup a bassinet that is mounted on the wall. I've never seen that before. I wonder of the parents had to pay extra for that.

The pilot just warned of some upcoming turbulence. I should really check how long that Dramamine is supposed to work.

Not much else to report at this stage.

I think I'll see what else is on the Delta programming...

And so it begins

Well, I'm not at the end of the bag drop line, but I'm close. The line, after winding through the normal Disneylandesque zig-zag, extends the full length of the terminal and into the walkway toward the adjacent terminal. I have about 1.5 hrs until boarding starts. I don't think I'm at risk of missing the flight, but this won't be a relaxing wait.

All that aside, I am incredibly excited about this trip and I look forward to the  adventure of the next couple of weeks.

First Trip To Asia...departing in 19 hours

This is basically a test post. I've never really blogged. But, I thought this may be a good way to chronicle my upcoming trip.

Of course, I'm down to the last minute on several things. I just ran an assignment up to UC Irvine. And I haven't even begun to pack. Further, there are probably at least ten things that I'm already forgetting, and more will surely be forgotten.

My first order of business tomorrow is to schmooze my way into business class. Wish me luck!
